I have a friend who wants to transfer from a community college to Cal State Long Beach as a transfer student. He's doing very well this quarter and hopes the Fall 08 grades will factor into his overall GPA. The catch is that he has to turn in the application for Fall 09 by nov. 30th and he will not have his gardes back. Will they count his grades for this term or does he just have to live with the past grades? Please help!

In my own experience they have not - but the best thing to do is to check with the school you're applying to. They usually have very helpful hotlines that get questions like this all the time and should be able to give you a very accurate answer so there is no guessing
