Hello All ... first time posting!

I plan to attend (Fall 2008) Colorado Mountain College (CMC) Timberline Campus located in Leadville, CO.

I would like to live off campus if possible! I would like to met new students that may be attending CMC in 2008. Would like to get an idea about employment ? in Leadville ? and off campus housing. Any current students @ CMC could also provide general information about their experiences with the local housing market.

Hi!

I'm a staff member here at Colorado Mountain College. Welcome aboard. Unfortunately, I can't answer your questions about off-campus housing. I can tell you that the CMC experience can't be beat. I've taken classes here, (but not in Leadville) before starting to work here, and I wish I'd done my associates here.
I do have a question for you, now. I'm looking on the web to see what kind of opportunities potential CMC students have to network. Did you find anyone to talk to on the web? Would it be helpful to you to have a CMC group set up on-line for students? Any suggestions which site to use? I'd really appreciate your input.

Hello Katy,

I will be in Leadville, between the 14th & 28th of January (two weeks). I am looking forward to my trip and would love to met you!

I have found it difficult to do any real networking. A forum, such as this, phpBB is freely distributed software, and has few administration requirements. A social tool where like minded individuals (CMC Students, Potential Students, Alumni, and Staff) could meet and exchange ideas, would benefit all! I run my own personal blog ( http://cmc.corbinfletcher.com ) and I have posted comments on a blog that has been created recently by a current CMC student. My blog is directly related to my college choices, both my pursuit of an AA/AS at CMC, and my future plans to attend a college for undergraduate studies.

My main goal, on my trip to Leadville (in six days), is to visit the campus, met students and faculty. I will also be seeking work and exploring my housing options. I will be distributing my resume to potential employers. Generally, attempting to make an educated decision.

"NO" !

I have been doing some social networking without much success! I have plenty of time before I permanently relocated to Leadville (July 2008). My current queries, would be in regards to my trip to see the campus, this month.

Thanks so much for your response. I'm sorry it took me a few days to get back to you. I'll definitely check out your blog, and get back to you about some of the issues I brought up. I'd like to get in touch with you some more about what would be helpful to you.
I hope you have a great trip. I came out here originally for "a year or two" and haven't left yet.
